    Backup Camera question

Looking at backup cameras and was wondering if anyone had and problems with the cheap ones from amazon for under $30? I'm going to be buying one just not sure whch one I am going to end up buying. The cheaper the better as long as it will last LOL.

I get the cameras I install from Kawamall. They are 11/16 round, low light sensitive, 150 degree viewing angle color cameras that flush mount. I like to drill a hole in the O in Oregon on my license plate and you don't even notice it. They cost 39 dollars with free shipping and I've never had a problem with them.

Bad picture but you can see it's mounted right above the third number on my plate.

I just ordered this one. Amazon.com: Pyle PLCM18BC License Plate Mount Rear View Backup Color Camera with Distance Scale Line ''Zinc Black Chrome'': Car Electronics Looks like a decent camera for the money and it says it's waterproof & Low Lux Performance of 0.2 LUX Night Vision.

I decided on a radio also and should be getting that by end of the month here it is. Pioneer AVH-P440BH http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-AVH-P4...9095698&sr=1-1

Here is the one I bought and it seems to work good, especially for the price. If it only lasts a year oh well, buy a new one, the wires are already there and ran. Amazon.com: Car Rearview Camera plus IR Night Vision plus 1/4 Inch CMOS: Automotive.

I have a used Sony backup camera that I would sell if someone is interested. I paid $140 from a local rep last year. It was an awesome camera, never had any issues with it, but no longer have a double din unit so, i'd take $40 for it.

I have bought a couple of these as well. Great cameras.

Have one on my car for over a year now, that replaced one similar to it that was fine for over a year as well. The only reason that I replaced it is that I wanted a lower profile camera:

    New camera installed:

I also have one on the van for a few months and so far so good.

Look for a 170* camera that has good low light sensitivity or even better IR, an IP 67 or IP 68 rating, and that looks good!

If you pay over $50 for it you are getting ripped off.

how easy is it to install one of these to the stock nav unit? I didn't realize they are so cheap. I hate the transition from the wife's tahoe having a camera to mine not having one.
