    Audio install...it begins!

This is going to be a drawn out thread as I don't have anything but the door speaker baffles I just made in my garage lol. I'm starting a thread now so as the install progresses people can chime in, give constructive criticism and maybe give others ideas to play with. This isn't going to be an extravagant audio install with fiberglass, neon lights, spinner grills LoL etc.
    The parts:

Dayton Audio 8" Woofers for the doors
    http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=295-376

Dayton Audio 1-1/8" Tweeters for the dash
    http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=275-135

Dayton Audio 4" Midrange for somewhere, probably the kickpanels
    http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=295-378

    Alpine 9887 =)
    http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...model=CDA-9887

    Kicker ZX700.5 5-channel amp
    http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...r+ZX700.5.html

I'm going to be running active and using the Alpine Imprint software with the 9887 to tune everything.

Just curious, is that 2008 Charger?

I only ask because the PAC C2A-CHY3 is for 2008's while the C2A-CHY is for 2005 thru 2007.

No worries my friend, I'm in the middle of my install as well and I'm linking the C2A-CHY for the 5 channel Amp with my CHYP for iPod Audio & Video.

Good luck with the install looks like a good one!

looks like its gonna be a great install. just curious, why did you go with the PAC versus something like the JL audio cleansweep?

I ask this because i did the same (not an LX) and i went with the JL cleansweep because of the DSP and adjustability.

i wanna hear what you think of that amp after the install.

2 reasons: First, ease of install. The PAC is basically a plug and play piece. Whereas the clean sweep would have to be mounted somewhere and take up more space. Secondly, money. I'd rather spend the money (for now) on speakers and install equipment. The clean sweep would've probably been the right way to go but the car isn't going to be entered into any competitions. All I'm looking for is a simple, relatively low cost install that looks OEM and sounds great. If there was a cheaper shallow 8", 3-way, passive component system out there I'd have it LoL.

My experiences with Alpine amps has been a good one. I can't wait to hear how this one sounds. The setup of the amp is clean, simple and small. All the connections are in the rear with the adjustment dials up front where you can get to them. I think they look great as well.

    Question

Does anyone know if these cars are benefiting from doing the big 3 wire upgrade? Any links?

    Thanks in advance

Well I can make a quick comment about the JL piece... it sucks!!!
Yes I had it for about 2 months and it wasn't any good....

The quality is not all that... The PAC Audio piece is a better unit when you choose better product for your amps.

Just incase for the people not in the know...

The first thing to do is the "Big 3".
Upgrade the following wires to preferably 0 ga.
    Battery to chassis (-) YES
    engine to chassis (-) YES
alternator to battery (+) If you are going with a bigger system, I would. If not then I really wouldn't worry about it to much.

I would recommend the Big 3 whenever you can do it. It wont ever hurt the car, and its pretty inexpensive. the worst that can happen is you wont notice a difference.

HI, Bx could you please also take the picture when you connect the cable to the battery and how you ground it, I am an audio beginner, probably I will do the same project next year. Thanks.
