    Audio Guru HELP needed ASAP!

    Hey guys and gals.

I have run into an issue. My wife surprised me today with a new Nave/DVD deck (oeradio ch-4100). I had looked at buying one from a member here but decided to go another route. Well, while she was in the hospital after giving birth to our 2nd daughter she found a good price on ebay and bought a new one with nav for $450.

Well, I go to circus city and buy the adapter and wire it up. Do a quick test and adjust the factory amp output on the interface (axxess cht0-013), everything in working order. Go to install it and it takes a sh1t on me!!! Check the factory deck...works fine. Every once in a while if I turn the ignition on (car running) the new deck will light up for a second or so, the take a dump again. All fuses are good.

My question is....does this sound like a deck issue or maybe the interface went bad? Any info would help, as my wife is glaring at me with the death look.

BTW...this iw not my first rodeo installing audio (more like the 15th). But I am at a loss.

The aftermarket adapters can be very touchy, this sounds more like an adapter issue to me. One way to check for sure is to hook the deck up to the battery and a spare speaker you might have lying around, if it powers up and works then you will know for sure it's the adapter.

Thanks 60! Took your advice. Unit was fine, but instead of frying another $160 adapter I took it to the pro's and had it done. I was so worried my wife wasted money on my dumb a$$. lol
