    amp ?

I replaced the 2 6*9 speakers in the back of my 05 rt magnum with infinity kappas but i'm disapointed with how they sound. is it possible to add an amp to run them and possibly a 10' sub I might add. I have the factory BA system with the nav unit. Any thoughts?

I replace my factory 6x9s (the bottom of the line paper ones) with Infinity Reference 6x9's and kept my stock head unit...(Basic AM/FM/CD) and was also disappointed with the sound. I purchased a used Alpine amp (nothing fancy) and they perked right up!

    Get an amp!

I also replaced all speakers and added a amp and sub. I have the stock 6 disk head unit still but just ended up tapping into the rear speaker wires converting them to RCA then to the amp then new wire to the new rear speakers and the sub to the amp. Removal of the spare tire makes a great place for a 10 or 12 inch sub. Leaving the amp under removable floor makes for a nice clean install.

Mod list: Air silencer removal;K&N air filter; Custom Grill; Chroma shield Color Reflective Windshield, Weather Tech vent visors, Charger R/T wheels, Tinted windows. More coming soon to a theather near you.

Just replacing the stock speakers with aftermarket ones while using the rest of the factory setup rarely yields good results. You'd be better off running the stock speakers over aftermarket ones unless you swap out the whole system including the factory amp.

The high efficiency of the stock speakers matches the low powered factory amp much better.
