I need a recommendation for speakers for the rear doors on my Jeep. I have an amp that puts out 150w x 2 rms and the speakers I was going to use are Focal 165CA1 and only handle around 80w rms.
So I need suggestions on what to get to handle that amount of power.
Bonus points if I can get them today or by Sunday.![]()

If I knew this early this week... it could have happened for you by this Sunday
Thank you Bigal470
Also which amp do you have?
Turn down the gain on the amp? :-P Is it like the LX line where you can swap in a 6x9? That might get you there.

The amp is a JL HD600/4. I haven't had the rear doors off to see if a 6x9 would fit. I might just run the fronts off the amp and leave the rears on the headunit until I can find something that won't blow up. LOL
Thanks guys....keep any and all suggestions coming!
Thoughts on these?

Eric, keep in mind that most speakers blow because they are UNDERpowered, not overpowered. As long as the gain isnt maxed out on that JL amp, I bet the Focals will do just fine back there.
Btw... when did you pick up the new HD amp?

Just turn the gains down. As long as you have a volt meter and set the gains the right way you should be fine. The focals are a nice set of speakers but unless you sit in the back I wouldn't go overboard. I got some old boston acoustic speakers in the rear of my charger and they should fine. It's the front speakers that you wanna put some money into. Also with your gains turned down it gives you more margin of error for grounding issues like alternator whine and other interference. Good Luck.
