    Question 6.5" 3 way component suggestions?

    Looking for a 3 way component set with a strong 6.5" woofer that likes to thump in the doors with some power. Or should I just go with a 8" 3-way component set?

    Decisions, decisions!

    For the best soud, take the bass out of the doors and put it in the trunk.

    I don't do subs in the trunk. I want all of music up front so I'm willing to give up some of the lower frequencies to be happy.

    That is a pretty broad question, which usually depends on a few things. What type of music do you listen to? How much do you want to spend? Active or passive setup?

    "For the best sound, take the bass out of the doors and put it in the trunk." This is a subjective statement.

    The only reason I'm here is to pick on imahemi.

    Metalhead! >=)

    I listen to everything but the majority of the time I'm listening to the heavy stuff!

    I'm going to stick with a passive system due to ease of install/tuning. As for the price, I'm going to spend a good amount on speakers being that I'll be saving some money not getting subs in the trunk. So I'd say around $800 for the speakers themselves.

    Thanks

    The Dynaudio stuff was what I was looking at in the first place as well. 8's in the doors, mids in the dash and the tweets..........I still haven't figured that out yet lol.

    OK, Take the bass out of the doors and put it in the trunk may not be the best way to put it but, the doors are not the ideal place for speakers. Any basket type speaker in the stock configuration and location will have loss of performance and imaging. Speeaker perform better in an enclosure (even 3.5s) and need to be relocated or adjusted for better imaging. Enclosing and adjusting the location of the stock speakers will make a huge difference.

    The question to ask yourself is, how do I want it to sound (better than stock, movie theater,concert hall) and how much do I want to spend?

    I personally think installation is more important than equipment.

    You WILL NOT go wrong with that choice at all. See the link I provided from DIYMA for a nice install in a 300C.

    sick

    if you want really good midbass go with these speakes. I know plenty of people who have dynaudio with 8 inch drivers and don;t need a sub at all.
