    6 1/2's in the doors.

Just got a pair of Infinity Reference 6 1/2's to replace my stock speakers in the doors. However, yesterday when I got the door off and tried to install the speakers, they do not fit in the stock brackets.

Has anyone else had this problem or am I missing something? I looked at Crutchfield and other places for a bracket, but I can't find anything. If I want these to fit, it looks like I'm going to have to drill new holes in the stock bracket to get em to fit.

Thanks in advance for any input.

I replaced the speakers in my doors and needed to make new brackets. Actually, SuperT made them for me. I bought some adapters from cardomain for the rear deck, they might work for the doors. They cost me around $10, shipped. I can't comment on quality or anything yet since I haven't had time to put them in yet.

SuperT made custom 6 1/2 brackets for the doors? Do they go over or replace the stock bracket? I can't be the only one who has replaced the 6 1/2's in the door. What else have guys done to make this work?

He was there helping me install everything and made them from some 3/4" MDF I had for other parts of the project. They came out great!
I still need to post some pics of the completed project. I'll see if I can find the pics in the meantime.

OK cool. It could be an easy fix other than buying new brackets, but Ill think of something since the holes are not aligned...hmm

I feel like an idiot. Got home yesterday to pop the doors off and just drill some new holes and get this project goin. Anyways, turned out I must have been in a rush the first time I looked at everything, cause I opened the Infinity box more and BAM! There were brackets for everything. Needless to say I got em in and they sound great.
