Is there a way to make the stock NAV unit display the large digital clock on the screen when the unit is off - like the Charger does?

Hmmm...I think you can do it with the StarScan/Mobile but I haven't played around with that yet. Great, now I have a little project tonight.
"The 5.7L engine was designed to be a balance of cost, weight, and power. The SRT 6.1L engine was designed to kick ass." - Team SRT
"She'll make point five past lightspeed. She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid. I've made a lot of special modifications myself." Han Solo - the future of Hot Rodding
yes you can with the star scan..
there is an option in the radio ECU to enable the clock..
come to think of it, it might be in the FCM ECU.. I forget..

doubtful they would do it for free, even more doubtful they will do it, since it is not in any manual or TSB; they will be clueless.
might want to put out a thread asking if any locals have a star scan..

You know,I probably should be offended by that.I work at a dealer and believe it or not,I figured that one out.But I know why you say that. I sometimes think monkeys at the zoo could do a better job than some of the rocket-surgeons I have seen.True story, just the other day,a guy I work with said "you can't update a MYGIG,there's no place to put the disc".Then his jaw dropped in amazement when our foreman pushed the open/close button and the screen flipped down.
You can't make stuff like this up.
members of this forum that are dealer techs are always excluded from comment like mine..
the mere fact they are members here is proof enough they WANT to know more about the vehicles they work on and the job they hold.
Anyone can show up to work and read a few TSBs with how-to instructions and never think outside the box..
there are a choosen few, (FnkyChkn, Tbird10036, JonSRT, yourself, and a few others) that share and learn about these cars, and others in the Mopar family, rather than just show up and punch a clock..
As for your comment about the MyGig.. well I can say that I have actually had to show techs how to do stuff on the star scan (activate DRL's, Calibrate the steering angle sensor, and the ABS system...) Things they should already know, and I was in the bay showing them how after being told they "couldn't" figure out the problem.

Yea,it's pretty unbelievable.I got a lot more stories. One guy in particular,he was good for 2 or 3 a week.He once tried fixing a sunroof from outside the car.He was actually on the roof.Wanna guess how that one turned out?I'll give you a clue, the body shop had to get involved. He also drove a Jeep 2 blocks after the rear end locked up on a road test.Oh, and to stay out of traffic,it was on the sidewalk.
Yea,I hear what you're saying about dealership techs. There are some good ones, but then there's the rest
Forgot to add, you're right about another thing.Coming here to learn.A lot of good guys on here and a lot of good info.I know I have gained a lot by coming here.
