Do you know what software package he's using? If I didn't know better, I'd say he just took a CMM to an actual Charger! That's some really impressive modeling right there.

It's all Greek to me, but on the other thread he said:

    Cool

    Nicely done!

I play around with Hash Animation Master (~$199) at home. I can't afford the high dollar products. Still, I was able to have fun for about 8 weekends with a caliper and a 1:18 scale PT Cruiser. This was last summer when Transformers was in theaters. I can't draw worth a crap, but I figured I could move vertices around long enough to resemble the real thing.

And joined by a Cranberry Transformer version:

Except for the head and the right hand, all pieces of the transformed version are exactly the same size and shape as when in "car mode".

I love that stuff. I play with Solidworks, but that would take me around a million years to duplicate. I am impressed.

Thanks for bringing it over here, Mike.

I smile because i have no idea whats going on.

Hey all, I'm Smoke on the other forum... I just registered here yesterday. So good timing on the post Junior.

Thanks for the compliments on the Charger... guess I'm definitely gonna have to finish it now. It's just one of my own little side projects when work is slow.

I could try... I don't have a Magnum model though. And I'd need a load of reference.

I actually use a desktop scanner (NextEngine) to get my base reference (plastic model)... it's pretty rough, but better than using the ole 2d lineart stuff to work from. So once I get my base shape, I start working from pictures...
This is the first time I've had the reference item sitting in my driveway, so things are a little easier.

If any of you have bought diecast NASCAR models from Motorsports Authentics in the past year, I made the 3D model which is on their boxes.
There was an article on NextEngine's website about me a while ago... but I guess they deleted it.

Thats pretty sweet for using that particular program!

I should have more shots soon!

When you say desktop scanner, you mean an optical scanner? Wow, those must have come a long way! Can't wait to see the finished product man, that this is sick so far.

Hey there he is! I was gonna send you a note over there to let you know, but I forgotted... but here you are.

I keep looking at this stuff, and it's just amazing to me. Keep posting the progress, I love it!

Do you have any plans for it, once it's built? I imagine you could try out paint schemes and body mods... all kinds of stuff...
