About LinkBacksSo how can I reduce the size of a gif avatar file size and/or it's quality?
When I try and do it through PS, it changes it to a PS file and it deosn't work. Since we are limited to 100 x 100 pix and only ~46k ...how can I reduce ones that I have which are larger in dimension or size?

Use the "Save For Web" menu item in Photoshop or use this attachment.

This still won't let me save it as an active Gif...when I reduce the size and save it for web...it saves it as a still frame picture, not an active gif like and avatar

ahh. I didn't realize that you wanted an animated GIF. I'm pretty sure that PS doesn't support those due to patent reasons.
I usuallyl just install some shareware editor for those.

Photobucket has a resize feature that works quite well too...

If you have Photoshop you should have ImageReady. Open in that and then save as optimized. You may have to look at the help menu to get it perfected. I did but it is there.
I did this with ImageReady. We only had one mask, we just sat in different spots and took a picture with it on seperately.

In photoshop, hit "File" then "Jump to ImageReady"...
