Interesting, but back in 1963 (Chicago) I was actually in some indoor drag races.
It was at the International Amphitheater, and we actually drag raced indoors.
I had my 63' Plymouth 2dr. Savoy with a Max Wedge 426 motor, auto trans.
It was hard getting traction on the polished concrete floor. We did race from one building, thru a doorway, into another building. Yes, some guys did hit the doorway.

This was during a Chicago winter........................

    thats freakin sweet, Bob.
would love to stumble onto some underground havens with camera one day.
In lubbuck, we had one 6 level parking garage. Wasn't much for cars but, man, drunken on a skateboard some fellas could really pass some time.
I was educated on out judicial system there.
got arrested for criminal trespassing, watched it get turned into fishing without a license and knew I never did either.

I can imagine the roar in that chicago building, man!

Hey! I got an idea. Put up an IMAX screen and show some scenery whizzing by; or maybe a virtual reality headpiece to give the driver the feeling of movement down the quarter. Not much of a spectator sport though.

they had 50 entries and 150 spectators on select evenings this winter.
kinda like watchin' paint dry. I like the virtual coolness idea.
