They look nice and solid, personally prefer the look of the stocks. Nice ride though

Nice pics, but do you have any with the headlights on?

Do the halo's stay on with the head lights?

How well do the headlights work?

I'm getting a few more pics at dusk tonight. It was a bit too dark last night.

The halos are wired to the parking lights, but they can be wired any way you like. Even with a switch for manual override.

The headlights are pretty close to stock in brightness. I'm going to look for some Silverstars since the projectors have more control over the beam.

Silverstars in the headlights tend to blow quickly..I have never had luck with them, and ran them for some time. Cost me some serious $$ to keep replacing them.

I have always been a silverstar fan but expect to last for only about 6 mos, anything after that is gravy. I usually search Ebay and can find a good deal every now and then. If there is another halogen bulb out there that gives off the same light (I know its less becuase the bulb is colored!) and color I havent seen it. I have the HIR's in my highs and lows and while I have them in my wife's yukon I am not impressed in the mag.

    (in my Homer voice) AHHHH!
(in my Mr. Bill voice) oh NOOOOOOOOOO!

You guys had to know I was going to blow a gasket when you said the 'S' word :-)

The blue coating on the Silverstars actually has been measured to REDUCE light output (as measured in lumens). The bulbs don't last as long because, to overcome the blue coating (light transmits thru painted glass less effectively then it does clear glass), Sylvania has to overdrive them. It still doesn't do the job of replacing the lost lumens and the perception of increased visibility is an optical illusion related to the color temp of the light. You can't actually see any further and the ruse is only really revealed with a light meter (they fooled me too when I had them in).

I am still using HIR bulbs for low and hi beams. I won't change to HID in the low beams until I see a projector assembly I fall in love with. HIR's produce serious light output when measured with equipment vs. eyeball SOTP.

But the color temp is only a teeny bit cooler than a standard halogen, if it is cooler at all. If you want cooler light temps without torpedoing your visibility I would go with HID's. My own personal plan is to use a 6000k HID kit, which is going to be not-so-whitish but provides more light output than a higher kelvin rated bulb. I'll always stick with HIR's for the high beams. Those suckers are freaking flamethrowers.

    specs:

The skinny General Electric versions are used as hi beams in the Viper.

Sorry for the soapbox speech. Sometimes I just can't help myself.
