Unhappy Looks like I picked a bad week to quit sniffing glue!

Talk about a crappy couple of days. This morning I found out that my 96 year old grandmother passed away. We were expecting it, but that still doesn't help. Angelina Marie Cavalcante was born in Accetura, Italy in 1910 and came to America through Ellis Island in 1911. She had a beautiful and blessed life and I will miss her terribly. God Bless you my sweet little grandma!

Here she is this past Christmas with my grandson, her great-great grandson Joey.

This past Thursday, by beautiful bride-to-be Rosanna's 2003 Volvo S40 was totaled. Her car started shaking in front and pulled to the right. She swerved to the left to avoid hitting another car and lost control and hit the wall head on. Thank God she was in a Volvo and wearing her seatbelts!! That car literally saved her life. She's bruised and sore from the seatbelts and airbag but otherwise OK. It would seem that God has now given her to me twice! The idiot officer on the scene ticketed her for "Too fast for conditions". He didn't witness it, road was dry, car was mechanically sound, she wasn't speeding and he didn't witness her doing anything wrong. Time to write the DA and prepare for court. Maybe I'll just let the family fix this one...

We should get the claim before the wedding and I'll probably buy her a new car for a wedding gift, but all she had to do was ask!! It would have been a lot easier. Here's my baby's poor car:

All this one week before her parents arrive from Brazil and three weeks from the wedding (three weeks from today, in fact!).

If I'm going to have all these major things happening in my life in such a short time, would a winning lottery ticket be out of the question? lol...

Simply put...cars can be replaced, Grandma is finally home with Grandpa and life goes on. The lesson? Love one another right now, right here, for no one owns tomorrow but God.

Thanks for listening, my dear friends..... God bless and keep you.

WOW! What a week. Hope everything calms down for the wedding. I wish you and your bride to be all the best.

Know without a shadow of doubt that Grandma is happy, and as strong and healthy as she ever was. She now enjoys a time without pain, sickness or sadness. She will watch over you and your new wife to be.

Sorry to hear of your loss(es). You have the right attitude and it sounds like some great times are just around the corner.

Wow! What a week. When it rains, it pours. Grandma's in a better place. Your Bride to be is OK, and you're going to be married soon. Even when things are looking bleak.....there is always a bright spot. Life is looking up.

Wow... now that is a bad week. Makes most of the rest of us think our bad week wasn't really that bad!

Glad to hear your 'wife to be' is okay. I hope everything works out well.

I'm curious... did the windshield break from the impact, or did something inside fly into it? If it was from loose items in the car, you can be thankful that nobody was in the passenger seat!

Wow sorry to hear but it was a lucky week for the fact that Rosanna is OK. Sorry about your Grandma, mine is 98 and suddenly her heart is cutting off oxygen to her brain and she can't even muster the strength to stand. I'm afraid we are facing the same thing. Yours looked like a wonderful grandma and I know you will miss her. I'm glad you have your memories and she will always be with you. Congrats on the upcoming nuptials. The best to you and your bride.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts, kind words and prayers. Grandma did have a beautiful life full of Love. I can only hope to be half as blessed as she and with friends like you guys, I know I'm in good shape!

We're heading up to Jersey on Wednesday and will be back home on Sat PM. She still can't drive, so I'll have to load up on the B12 and caffeine!
