    What cell phone to get

its time for me to get a new cell phone plan but I dont know what to get:

Right now Im looking at the Samsung Omnia (Verizon) or the HTC G1 from T-mobile. What do you guys think? Any members currently have these phones and whats your opinion of them?

My vote goes to HTC Fuze also known as HTC Pro or Diamond.

Then get yourself a new custom ROM and it's like supercharging your phone.

    I have the G1.

I'm a gadget whore and I usually switch phones every 6 months or so. I don't see myself getting rid of this phone for quite a while.

    Rooted G1 + custom rom = Awesomeness.

Dunno bout Florida, but around Chicago, T-Mobile is worthless if you're indoors... who cares what the phone is if can't get a signal? Verizon FTW if your coverage is anywhere similar to ours.

I had an htc diamond and took it back in like two weeks. Total crap, the battery dies in like 4 hours just sitting in your pocket (the lady at cellular south said they all do it, it wasnt just a bad phone) and windows mobile BLOWS. Then I got a new crackberry and liked it a bit better but it tended to not get a signal and it wasnt really flexible enough for me.

I got a G1 and I love it. t-mobile's coverage may not be as great on data but they piggyback on other carriers so I've not had it not work at all. Plus it uses a card so I can always unlock it and move to at&t if I get in the mood for some self abuse. Verizon is rumored to be coming out with an android phone very soon, you might want to wait until summer.

Have the Fuze, love the Fuze, recommend the Fuze.

the htc fuze/touch pro or diamond(touch pro minus sliding keyboard) all are amazing phones. I'd recommend going with AT&T as well, but you can get the touch pro on almost any service now.

As far as battery there are ROMs out there that are simply amazing when it comes to conserving battery life.
You would be amazed as to what people can do.

AT&T coverage in Florida isn't the greatest. A friend of mine has them and is always dropping calls or bad signal/reception.

Thanks guys!...I never really thought about the diamond of touch pro. I'm a little skeptical about windows mobile but the phones do look cool. I love android but i find that phone to be on the ugly side...the htc diamond with an android os...well that would be something

The iPhone is nice, but I find myself yelling at the TV every time an App Store commercial comes on. 99.9% of the apps available for the iPhone are also available for the G1.

I'm an iPhone junkie. Sometimes I kick back from the computer and just play games or surf on my iPhone at home.

If you're looking at a smartphone, the iPhone is nice, but my vote goes for the Blackberry Storm. Not as flashy as the iPhone, but it has removable/replacable battery, removable/upgradable memory card and video camera. I've had mine since they came out and have been very satisfied. Had Windows Mobile devices before that and never really loved them.
