    They tell you to "break" it in, even back then. BOOOO!

    Did you read the warrenty? I think its page 65. 90 days or 4,000 miles.

    It definitely takes a lot more time to do a normal oil and lube on one of these. There are grease fittings everywhere.
    I love the old owner's manuals, the best are the accessories, the early versions of cruise control. That's how I found out there was an optional record player for my Desoto. DVD player in your car, big deal, I can play 45's!

    The fluid drive transmissions are wierd though. They work like an automatic but they have a clutch (to start and change "ranges"), but they can't shift under power, so you have to let off the gas to up-shift. The downshift is really scary if you're not used to it. The car actually shuts off the engine for a second so it can downshift, then re-engages the ignition. So you're bogging your way up a hill and all the sudden the engine dies and you're thinking , then there's a soft click and off you go again.
