Recently, and old observation of mine was renewed, while I was driving to work. Several years back, I came to the conclusion that driving with your mouth open slows you down considerably. During my daily commutes, whenever I came across a slow moving vehicle on the freeway, I noticed that the driver would have his/her mouth open and a dazed look on their face. While regular or fast drivers had their mouths closed. Is this why people talking on cell phones drive so erratic?
Could it actually be that an open mouth would slow down a vehicle? Or is it that a slow brain would lead to the open mouth and slow vehicle.
How could I get a government grant to study this phenomenon further?
is intrigued!!!
