    Network Webcam Question

My buddy just gave me a Panasonic BL-C131A Network Remote Monitoring System for my new dog. Unfortunately, he does not have the CD with it. I found this site which should get me all the drivers, firmware, and manuals: http://panasonic.net/pcc/cgi-bin/pro...a.cgi?g=C131&m=

I don't think that site has the software I need to record, and remotely access the camera when I'm at work. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks!

The camera doesn't come with recording software, you have to get that on your own. The exception is that you can set it up to take periodic snapshots and upload them via FTP to a server or send them via e-mail.

The camera is fully configurable from a web browser. You can remotely view the video feed from a web browser also - no desktop modules needed. In DHCP mode, it usually trys to get the .253 address on your subnet. Here's a site I just found with some good info on configuring it: http://www.tenm3.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12

I use software called Active WebCam from PYSOFT that does recording from the Panasonic cameras only when motion is present. It can also send alerts to you or only record during certain hours, etc.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks Jon. This should be what I need to get things up and running. I won't be needing the record feature right now. As long as I can keep a window open on my work desktop to see how things are going, that will be fine.

    Thanks again!

    Cheers!
