I'm currently working for the US Postal Service as a Part Time Flexible. If I had known what that meant, I might have had second thoughts. I'm not guaranteed 40 hours a week or a day off. I have worked as much as 50+ hours a week and as few as 15. The only good thing is that I have job security in the fact that I most likely won't be laid off. The pay is excellent (when I amass enough hours). I've worked for a couple of months in a row with only Sundays off, and several weeks with 3 days a week off (and 20 hours scheduled). BTW, I'm a clerk, not a letter carrier.

I work for The Belmont Race Track. (A horse track for those that don't know).
I only started there Oct 27th 08 but the job is amazing. Yeah It's most manual labor, but that's what I was built to do.
In about a month and half I should be in the Union so I can not wait!!
Here's a picture, just for fun.

Just took over as an Area Manager for an Oilfield Equipment Company in Oct of '08 in West TX. Drilling has sllloooowwed down a lot here in the past month. Kinda scary!!! I don't expect it to pick back up until MAYBE the 3rd or 4th quarter. OUCH! The money is good, BUT don't know how much longer it will last. Also looking for a career change with this lovely economy. LOL, I know perfect timing.

I don't know who'd be interested, but I did read last week that the US Border is looking to hire 9000 new personnel. Thought it may help some who didn't hear about it.

Great Idea! I'm an A&P mechanic for a flight school in SW Ohio. We also run a Part 135 Charter Operation. TImes are tough, but atleast so far we have been keeping the planes in the air for the school and the charter, well we can often save our customers money vs the airlines.

I'm a US Merchant Marine working with military sealift command as a deck officer (2nd Mate unlimited). Basically I fwd deploy with the US Navy and allied forces and provide them at sea replenishment with whatever they need including ammo, food, and fuel (the Navy doesn't do their own logistical support anymore). Its an interesting line of work but for a normal year I am away from home for 8 to 10 months straight with no shore rotation. Its tough being away from friends and family all the time. I’ve started to look for something at home but options seem very limited.

I got a BS in Marine Transportation with a minor in Naval Science. I also have a long list of USCG and USN certs.

I am a Sales Rep for Stryker Orthopaedics. I sale implants to Orthopaedic Surgeons for total knee, hip, etc.. as well as trauma like rods, screws, plates and so forth. I have to make sure that everything is at the surgical site and sterilized (implants and instruments) when the doctor wants it for a case and then I have to be in the surgery for covering the case to make sure that the instruments are used correctly and that the doctor gets the implants that he/she wants. Really great job, very demanding, long hours; but great pay. And should be ok through the recession as long as Obama doesn't try to socialize medicine!!! That would suck!!
