    Laser Eye Surgery

Well, after hedging for a while...next week I go for my "consultation" for laser eye surgery. Its the "bladeless" type (no way is anyone going to put a knife to my eyes!)

My fiancee is HAVING it done as well (she goes in a month after I do...and she has waaaay worse sight then I do).

Anyone had this done? I'm looking forward to it (but still a little weirded out about the whole process)

Joekd had it done a while ago with wonderful results.

I'd love to get it, but I'm fine with my contacts for now...

honest opinion...best gift I ever bought myself

The morning of my surgery I could hold my hand out straight and my fingertips were blurry, as soon as I was done I could see a clock on the wall

I have since tested and had the glasses restriction taken off my drivers license and am a solid 20/40, not bad for a guy who wore contacts for 15+ years and couldn't see the big E on the eye chart clearly without them

The only downside is I still have a slight "halo" at night (kinda like clorine eyes after swimming) but I would recommend it a thousand times over

I don't think anyone still does the knife method, Lasik is the only way to go, you get both eyes done at once and honestly do not feel a thing. I drove myself to my follow up appointment the next morning with no trouble

I would love to get it done. I just can't afford it at the moment. I will have to live with my contacts and slightly better than 20/20 vision.

Thanks Joe. Now that I remember...I think I asked you about this about a year ago. I finally got around to doing it.

if you remember back I talked myself out of it twice and then finally had it done

as I mentioned many times my only regret was not doing it sooner

There is, but if you cut back the possibility is less. The hair on your hands goes away too.

Repeated studies have shown that LASIK has a complication rate of less than 5 percent

The odds of blindess FROM the surgery are about as high as your risks of blindness FROM playing sports

The doctor I am going to said the same thing.

Good thing about him is that he has a 100% success rate.
