I finally got a bigger pipe.

My Cox was 512kpbs up and 4mbps down. Today I signed up for the top speed available in my area 1mbps up and 9mpbs down.

I've confirmed that I now have 1mbps up which is really important since I'm VPN connected all over the place but so far I can't confirm 9mpbs down because none of the speed tests out there go up that high.

You should be able to tell with an easynews account. I always get my bandwidth worth from their servers. Probably because they are local though. Still. That's where I spend 99% of my bandwidth.

I hate how customer sales specs for DSL and Cable are labeled in kilo-bits per second. It's so misleading to the uniformed customer :(

But that's how network speeds are normally measured. I guess it can be misleading if an ordinary consumer is assuming MBps or KBps.

Yeah, I totally understand that's "the norm" but it just makes me mad...it's very misleading to customers who don't know any better.
