the first car I "owned" the pink slip was in Dad's name because i was under 18 when I bought it..

since that time she is right.. I've had 9 vehicles since 1989 and not ever paid off one in full before selling or trading it in.. but only 1 did I trade with negative equity, all the rest I either sold for more than I owned or got exactly what I owed on trade..

so how about it, how many cars have you owned vs. purchased..
I have paid off 2 vehicles, and purchased outright 3 vehicles...........currently paying off the new ride.........

I have owned 45-50 cars. Only two were not paid off when traded. The 94 Century was paid off and then used to secure another loan. It was traded for a 2000 Concord. The Concord was traded for a 2003 T&C Van and the van was paid off to end the chain. The two cars that we now have were essentially cash deals.

I've never traded or sold one before it was paid for. I've never traded one in, either sold privately or gave it to my children to use.

Owned 5: Bought New: '82 Reliant, 85 Omni GLHT (the one I wish I'd never sold), 90 Ford Aerostar (drove it for 17 years), 99 Intrepid (still have it: used by my son), 06 300C (current car)

Own: Bought used 1: 05 Grand Cherokee (wife's current)

Being 64 years old and always having a love for cars.... I've owned over 300 cars; mostly older chevys and right NOW I still have 21 cars; sold off three in the past few months.

Being orignially from upstate NY; every October I'd buy a "weather beater" and drive it til it broke and just buy another and did THIS every winter!

(Favorite memory of a weather beater = 1958 Ford Convertable... was so rusted, no floor boards in the back, just put boards back there and covered with a rubber mat, no back window, was always full of SNOW and driving down the street one winter, my rusted back fender fell off right in front of my old high school ~ drug it for awhile til the wires broke and fender just slide down the street.)

(Favorite of all cars EVER was my 1968 Camaro Z/28 = even like it BETTER than my current SRT8 Magnum!)

One reason my SCREEN NAME will NEVER change, i.e. NOTPAID4 ~ LOL~
