The Fnky Guestbook!!

There has been talk around here recently about doing something special for our favorite fowl. FnkyChkn

It has been brought up before, and he always chimes in with a humble "No thank you."

Well that's just not going to do!!!!

The suggestion was made about a card. Well that's a good start, but it would have to be a HUGE card. So I have decided to start the Fnky Guestbook.

And we're going to do it LXForums.com style!!!

To me that means the personal touch. None of those online guestbook things.

I'm talking a REAL book, hard bound, with hand written personal messages from those of us who would like to express our gratitude to FnkyChkn for all the help and usefull information he has, and continues to provide to our LX family. By the time it gets into Pete's hands, this book will have travelled thousands of miles, and will contain some great things I'm sure. It is very likely that this book will criss cross Canada and the US several times, and if anyone is planning a local meet where they are, and will be able to get a few members to sign at one time, just let me know via PM

Here's how It's going to work:

I have the book started, I will reserve Post #2 in this thread for the list of people who would like to participate.

Simply reply to this thread with an "I'm In" and your name will be added to the list.

I will mail, that's right I said mail, the book to the next person on the list, when you receive the book, you PM the next person on the list for their address, then PM me with who you've sent it to. I'll update the listing post so everyone can see where the book is in it's travels (without posting addresses) and who will be getting it next. That person gets the book, adds their personal entry, and PM's the next person in the list, and it goes on from there.

The book I have started is a small 7" X 10" composition book. I will ask that you limit yourself to 1/3 or 1/2 page at the most for your message to Fnky so we can have lots of room for people to get in on this. It should give about 575 spaces for people to get creative in. If that's not enough room, then I'll ship out a volume 2 when the first one is full.

I would like to have the book back by the middle of May 2007, to be able to present it to Fnky at the Montréal meet that Carsten (Netsrac) is organizing.

We've got over 4 months, lets get this book out there and show Pete, in out own personal way, that we all want to say "Thanks"

Also, if it's not too much to ask, can we keep the discussions to a bare minimum in this thread to make it easier to keep things organized. No one will have to copy and paste the list, I'll maintain that in Post #2. It often occurs that a lot of discussions start happening, that could easily make this thread difficult to organize, so simply an "I'm In" post would be sufficient. If anyone has any questions please feel free to PM me.

What about doing something to keep it geographically in one country and then making the boarder crossing to continue?

I know it could take a long time going to the states.. but once there can hop around really quick.... I know most of the ontario folk could do this really quickly.. maybe people could put their City and State/Province in too.. postal mail delays will really slow this down if we are sending it back and forth across the boarder..
