    Nearly 40 people have died since 1999 as a direct result of street racing in the Greater Toronto Area.

    Let's compare that with other stats..

    How many shootings since 99? How many DUI deaths? How many hit and runs?

    Spending millions to battle a problem that can be dealt with with existing laws...

    I'd sooner see 2M go to the schools...

    I have been on 22 many times since 1976 and it used to not go all the way north. Part of it was dirt. Went to go to a friends ranch up in the Porkys with my dual quad 413 1962 Chrysler 300. Then they paved it and it is still a ball to drive with my CV Magnum on the same trail. Just have to keep a lookout and have the V1 on. Forever Mopar.

    Ex Toronto Police Chief Fantino has become totally irrational and is "Power Crazy" now that they threw him into the role of Ontario Provincial Police boss. He is not particularily well liked and I think this kind of nonsense thinking should bring an end to his reign. JMHO

    I know I will get a lot of flak for saying this but I do speed a lil over the limit most of the time.

    IMHO I feel it is safer as I dont stay with traffic. I am usually driving alone and ahead and out of everyone's way which means everyone else is out of my way too. OK I live in BC Canada and have the luxury of not calling a road a parking lot!

    What I WILL NOT do is speed even 1mph over the limit in residential and school zones. Just wont do it, even if I have a prick/bully trying to rear end me. Any closer and their face talks to my baseball bat!

    Anyway, I think all this crack down is to set an example. Also I think yet again its 95% funds spent on 5% of the overall problems we have. I also think this is gearig up for BIG BROTHER anyway!

    Hey don't get me wrong, I have ZERO tolerance for people speeding in school or residential zones!
    I just don't see how a burst of speed for a minute with no other cars around in the middle of the night, North of the city could be called racing!!!
    Speeding? Defintely! (Call it what it is.)
