Anyone have luck for using internet to live stream cable tv onto there TV?

I know this is me being cheap, I will admit that. I purchased a house and we are looking into our cable options. We will be adding high speed internet in the next week or so and would like to have tv. Ideally I would like high def but not sure if thats an option without an actual box.

Have any of you guys used an option for live TV oustide of our local providers and sattelite providers? Feedback?

If this option doesnt exist or its a constant problem, I can bite the bullet and get a box or sattelite, just wanted to make sure I am considering all options. The biggest issue i have with local cable providers is you sign a 2 year contract, you get intro pricing for 6 months and then it bumps up at 7-24 months to a higher price.

Does it work for getting channels that are only with certain providers? Bell dropped HDNet (awesome channel) and there aren't any really viable options for us aside from Bell.

    Simple Solution -

    1. Sell Crappy Droid Phone
    2. Buy iPhone 4s
    3. Buy Apple iTV
    4. Watch all your programs a day late
    5. No Cable Bill

I use one of these Ceton CableCard Tuner Cards in my Windows 7 PC. The downside is I'm still hooked in to my cable provider, the upside is CableCards rent for only $5 per month, and for that $$ my PC becomes a quad-tuner DVR with a capacity limited by the size of my hard drive. Not a bad deal, IMO...

That's pretty awesome! The only downside your still forced to have a cable service. I will be getting high speed Internet I wonder if I can somehow utilize the feed?
