Anyone else home brew? Check out my jalapeno cream ale!

Just thought I'd share with you all the jalapeno cream ale I've got sitting in the secondary right now. Those green things floating around in there are vodka soaked jalapeno's! Should be ready for bottle Saturday and ready for mass consumption three weeks from then!

After we put the jalapeno's in the beer, we used the remaining jalapeno flavored vodka for the hottest bloody mary I've ever had.

interesting choice in flavors....my basement is such a cluttered mess, I couldn't brew if I wanted to. Must make it a priority to clean it all up and get back in the hb game...thanks for the inspiration

Sounds interesting! I've been brewing on and off for over 20 years mostly modifying existing recipies/kits to suit my taste. One of these days, I'll have to make something that is my own.

    Enjoy!

Soaking the jalapenos in vodka kills any bacteria that may be on the skin of the jalapeno. That's usually not that big of an issue PRE boil because the boil kills any bacteria that finds its way into the pot but after the boil sanitation is paramount. Even the smallest amount of bacteria can ruin an entire batch of beer.

<taking notes>.... Nice! We soaked some REALLY hot red chili peppers last year, and STILL have some of the Vodka. Chilis have now turned all white floating around in there. lol

The jalapenos soaked for about two weeks and the vodka was smoking hot.... If those things are white, I'd be terrified of that booze!
