    Towing capacity

    From the spec sheet:

Max. Gross Trailer Weight: 2000 lbs. (907 kg) – std. 3800 lbs. (1724 kg) – opt.

I didn't see anything for any towing option on the Build and Price sheet for the Magnum RT. So what do you have to do/spend to get the 3800 pound towing capacity?

    Thanks,

    Dennis

    > get the RT... the bigger engine allows the higher rating.

I don't think so. It says 2000 pounds standard for the Hemi/RT and 3800 pounds optional. Guess what I'm asking is what's the option?

I would expect maybe air shocks or similar, wiring for trailer lights and maybe a receiver hitch. Stuff you can probably buy aftermarket. I do wonder if there might be a lower diff gear ratio though? I will be pulling a trailer with mine but my trailer is a 2500 max gvw and loaded it is probably 2000 or a little less so i am not worried. If I had a travel trailer I would keep my hemi ram. I am liiking for the extra room and better gas mileage!

The tow package code is AHC or ACH I forgot. It consist of a different radiator and different cooling fans. The suspension changes are LOAD leveling shocks.
The trailer hitch comes with the wiring.
If you come up dodge.com and click on the Magnum and then RT and CHECK the options you would think the RT comes with the tow package because it's checked and says installed.
A lot of the sales people think the RT comes with the towpackage. IT DOES NOT!
Chrysler calls it the Severe Duty Cooling System and the LOAD leveling and Height Adjustment suspension. They can't tell you what it consists of or how much it cost.

They will tell you this: It's not available!!

That's another one of my issues!!

I called mu dealer yesterday and talked to the parts manager. I tild hem my Magnum may come within the next couple of weeks and that I cannot take delivery without a trailer hitch and light harness installed so he checked availability on those parts and found them not availabile yet but hopefully soon! He ordered the hd hitch receiver assembly and wiring harness and said he put a priority ship on the order. Since I pull my trailer every weekend, I cannot let my Ram go unitl the Magnum can pul the trailer too.
