I do not believe your idea will work the way you it to. The LX has to have the correct programed key in the ignition in order to start.

There is a thread within this forum with a link to the shop manual, maybe someone who has it will chime-in, it is on my office PC if you do not get an answer I will get something to you tomorrow.

How much was the button dealer in canada here said $79 i think with no wires and fits the cigerette lighter hole!

Honda S2000 might be cheaper and come with wires.

I don't know if I'm misreading this post, but to me it sounds like..

"Guys, I know you'all want this as much as I do, so I'm going to forsake my weekend and lock myself in the garage. I guarantee that by Monday, April 3, 2006 I'll have it finished and working correctly, with pics and a how-to for the Knowledge Base. Thanks for your patience and see you soon. Love, Roadpig"

    hehehe

In case you didn't follow bipto's link... this should be what you need...

There is potential to this mod...

anyone see the transporter 2? How about one of those touch screens that won't let you start the card without a code...

I'd prefer just a number pad like in the first movie, but I agree, it'd be tight... and a whole lot harder to steal. Pretty sure that in order to get it to function well you'd have to add some relays and possibly a plc.... would be hella-cool though.

thanks for the replies- i saw funkys chart of the ignition switch pins- hey funky-

if i read your post right- pin 5 is battery power(hot)- when you use the key to start- you are basically connecting pins 4 and 5- right? now with the start button- if i connect pin 2 on the srt button to 4 on the ignition switch- then all ill have to do is use pin 5 on the ignition switch to power the start button- or find a hot lead somewhere else-ive got a schematic of the srt switch that says pin 2 on the button is the same as pin 4 on the stock ignition switch- thanks roadpig

This is great idea. I'm thinking key switched to on, depress lighter (modded) in ashtray to start. I'm liking it!
