    Removed molding,now problem

So I removed the side moldings on my 300 srt..removed all the glue and everything..drivers side looks really good, passanger side, well not so good.ib got keyed on that side 4 months ago and had a shop repair it so they had to blend the paint and did aq good job,but now u can see how it was painted between new and old paint..anyway to fix this without taking it back to the shop.i totally forgot about it

Well at least you didn't have bubbles like I do.
In my dream the world had suffered a terrible disaster.
A black haze shut out the sun and the darkness was alive.
Suddenly a small light glowed. A candle flickered into life. A symbol of hope!
A single tiny candle, shining in the ugly dark.
I LAUGHED and blew it out!

Can you take it back to the paint shop? If they were spraying up to the molding they should have removed it to do the job and then replaced it?

The scratch was from the mirror to about 5" above the side moldings..they ended up repairing it and painting the entire door, but not underneath the molding

I think you should take it back to the shop. Doing the job right means taking the molding off, painting the door and replacing the molding.

They should repaint the whole door for you.

It makes me laugh when people recommend claybar to fix paint blemishs. It's a surface cleaner only.

I'm assuming a high speed buffer with the right pad would do the job,but if I do pay for the service, will it actually fix it

Not even that so much since clay bar, used properly, never even touches the surface. It's purpose is to remove particles/shards/pieces of stuff that is "stuck" into the surface (and is now sticking out of the surface). The clay glides *above* the surface on a film of lubricant and snags particles sticking up out of the surface. Totally non-abrassive. Having said that, I believe there are some "clays" made and intended to be slightly abrassive? but that's sort of something altogether different.

^x2...they did not do a proper job. No buffing will alter paint defects...

That clearcoat line "could" be buffed/polished out but will always be a line. This is where it'll start peeling/lifting off.
The only proper fix-repaint the whole door.Shouldn't be a big deal, wetsand and re clear.
