    Rain sensing wipers...

While I was at the dealers anyway I decided to CHECK on a 300C with the rain sensing wipers. The cool news is that the selector switch is no different than the regular one. You must have the EVIS installed to get the rain sensing wipers to work. There is a selection that allows you to turn it on or off. Once it is on all you have to do is move your selector to the slow position and the rain sensor will adjust accordingly. I believe all you need to do is install the rain sensor to the front windshield and figure out where it needs to be wired into. If anyone has access to that information please post it here. I think it would be cool to have this added to my Magnum once I get it.

    MagnumFreak,

What Jim and I use for tech info is:

    https://techauthority.gltghosting.co...atalogId=10051

    $20 for 24hrs, 200 for 30 days.

I will probably be logging in in the next couple of days to CHECK somethings. I will look INTO this then. Just need to hav enough time to make the $20 worth the investment.

I did some research INTO this on TechAuthority and I came to the conclusion that you had to have a special windshield wiper control. Maybe I was wrong, snickle give it quick once over while your there if you have the time and energy. I know how draining staring at all that can be! If the switch doesn't have to be replaced then its just a matter of installing the rain sensor which is just under hte rearview mirror. That will depend on if they ran the wiring for it which is a big if. Swapping out the wiper controler is a BIG job requiring removing the steering wheel assembly including the air bag.

Also, in the 300C, we have the option to turn the rain sensing wipers on or off through the personal menu on the dash. Not sure how that impacts the technical install but just another system that needs to recognize the rain sensing wipers.

My understanding is that the PCM in the 300C and the Magnum RT is the same, with the same programming. So if the computer detects the option, the menu shold be updated.

Is that the small black box about the size of a cigarette pack just behind the rear view mirror?

Anyone CHECK to see if we have te wiring to suport it? I bet we don't. We would have to run our own. I'll try to look it up on TechAuthority and CHECK mine.

I haven't actually stopped and looked in a 300 but isn't there a setting for auto wipers on the control stick? Or do you enable auto wipers FROM inside the EVIC?

OK, I obviously haven't talked to the parts guys yet but FROM what I've read the sensor bracket is only serviced with the windshied. So I'm wondering if you can only get the sensor braket by purchasing the entire windshield...
