    Radio Question

Anyone have information on the stereos included with the Magnum/300?

What I'm looking for is any information on connections on the back of the unit. My buddy and I have iPods that we would like to use, and the FM Transmitter attachments for the iPod don't work extremely well in the DC metro area (every station is either in use or has bleed over FROM another station).

I See in the Magnum accessory book (I found the link here somewhere to images) they also have a tape capable version of the 6 Disc CD-changer/player but it's not a build option if it does exist.

Wallabe, i took my radio out yesterday and the only thing on hte back of mine, because its the boston accoustic package, was an antenna plug and a single plug that goes INTO the radio that has power and ground and 3 sets of signal wires going straight to the amp located under the drivers side dash board. There is a kit out now if you wanted to install an aftermarket radio, Metra Kit 99-6507.

    Hope that helps you!

Don't suppose you took any pics of the process of taking the radio out, did you?

I didnt take any pictures but its really easy, the whole middle dash piece just snaps off. FROM the AC vents all the way to the top of the ash tray, you just need something, like a tuck n tool, to get behind it pry it out a little bit, then just get your fingers in there and pull. Then there is a plug that has to be undone that goes to the passenger air bag light and esp button that needs to be disconnected along with the AC controls, then the radio comes out with 4 screws. When i do it again i can get some pictures.

I was told by the dealership that i can put anything aftermarket in it yet because i have to bring it back to them for June 18th for their premeir night. They were not going to let me take delivery of the car till then but they told me i could have it if i brought it back for that night. I did take the side moulding off but left the Hemi badge, it makes the car look so much better.

Thanks for the instructions! Next time you have it apart, take some pictures and we'll add it to the "How-To" database.

The antenna connector should be the ticket. I live in the DC area and have used in the installed FM modulators before. The one I had disconnected or attenutated the antena when ever it had signal coming to it. That should work fine. It is my plan. Not sure I can live without my 20gig of music, even with Sirus.

6 disks full of mp3 files could be as much as 1,800 songs. It will take me a long time to listen to that many songs and I will have the Sirius radio too. I have never been crazy about modulators since the fm tuner limits the high frequencys a bit and forces you to go through many analog stages. On the other hand, mp3 files LIMIT the highs a bit too. Not enough that my 57 year old ears can detect though!
I do love music HAVING been a dj since the mid 60s and my 2003 Ram has a very high end system with a near top of the line premier head, XM tuner, alpine amps, top of the line infinity speakers and an infinity bass link sub. I suspect the Magnum will need a sub which the 300C has but the Magnum does not offer.
