Paint intake manifold

I want to paint my manifold black, but I don't like the texture it has stock. Any advice on sanding it down? What paint to use?

Which ever that gets the best result. I can paint myself, and I have a company who powder coated all my 3G customz parts for 80 bucks so they can do the manifold.

First remove the coating thats on the manifold with a aircraft grade stripper then have fun sanding if your gonna powdercoat then you should only need to go down to a 80 grit as the powder will melt and fill the small crevices. good luck

I always just use spray paint with some high heat primer.....works well for me, never cracks or looks bad! I spray painted my 20" clads and they held up pretty well! Look pretty damn good for 20.00 and a couple hours of time. I DD the car and it's been through rain, heat, cold and same paint has been on the wheels for 2 years now.

Any advice on which grits to use?

get yourself a dremel or a cheap one from harbor freight and and an orbital sander...makes quick work of large areas then use the dremel for the hard to reach spots and grooves...

start with 20-36 grit and work your way up

Black MSRT with Black Wheels, Procharger D1SC, 3g engine dress up, painted/powdercoated intake manifold, etc. It will all hopefully be done by the end of the year.

I got the aac style halos, challenger wheels and nitrous - what do you have

Mine looks basically stock with powdercoated wheels and tinted tails. Under the hood is just a frankentake with SLP LM2's.

I thik the Wrinkle Black will look good under the hood. Check out Legmakers, he originally had his manifold painted Black then went to the Wrinkle Black. I think the Wrinkle Black looks better. That's something that I'm looking at doing later this year.
