Magnun Rt Exhaust 2.25 or 2.5?

Was wondering if the exhaust is 2.25 inch or 2.5 inch. For people who cut out suitcase muffler did you use offset in offset out mufflers. Thanks in advance.

I want to try the Flowmaster Super 40 in place of the suitcase, and remove last two resonator/mufflers. Run some new tail pipes with a bigger tip maybe a magnaflow tips

Just to be clear I'm taliking about Magnum w Hemi.

    Thanks again :D

Also interested in the pipe size and offset. I plan on using Ultra flows and straight pipe for the resonators. I talked to Dynomax, Borla and flowmaster and none plan anything for the Hemi Magnum until next year. So I guess the 2 1/2" cat back is out unless you can find a shop to fab one.
    Thanks,

    exhaust

Hey there, if you plan on removing the rear resonators and run straight pipe anyways, I would suggest you do that first, I did it only to mine and it sounds perfect now, I am sure if you swapped the suitcase mufflers the car would be VERY LOUD.. I would say it would sound like a HEMI RAM Truck.. But that be what you are going for.. but I had the rear ones removed and 3" pipe ran for $65..

Stock sized pipes are 2 1/4.....I got an exhaust installed a few weeks ago, they kept all the stock piping and used glasspacks and mufflers that ran 2 1/4 inlets.

Thanks for the info. Swapping out the resonators first sounds like the best way to start. As you said that may be all I want until someone comes out with a 2 1/2" catback in 304.

Thanks for the help guys. Just installed 2 Flowmaster Super 40 series, 2.25 offset, offset in place of suitcase. Removed the two resonatetors, then ran two 4 inch Magnaflow 4in polished stainless steel tips. Local Meinke shop charged me $250, I supplied mufflers and tips. They sound great, gave the car nice muscle car sound. Nice and deep. It is loudest between 1500 and 2000 then it mellows out. My Father has a Rumblee Bee Ram with super 40 muffler (only one muffler) and the Magnum is a lot more mellow. I'd say a one step down FROM Mustangs with cats still on, a smoother sound.

One more thing when mds kicks in on highway, exhaust does sound a little dry. Just barely audible. Slightest amount of throttle and turn to eight. :D

Willing to make a video with mini dv, but don't know how to add to post.

    Thanks again

OK, You folks have finally talked me INTO it. I'm going in to have the exhaust modified. No sense in HAVING such a great looking car that performs so fine, and sounds so.....nice. Time to make it sound like it looks.

From the discussions, I guess I'm going to start with the removal of the rear resonators. Local shop took a look at it, and says they can do the job with replacement pipe and 3.5" stainless steel tips for no more than $150. Seems kinda steep, but whatever. Once I saw the underside, It sure looks like this is the easiest way to make it sound like a animal. Replacing the stock muffler with an aftermarket "off the shelf" looks like it would decrease ground clearance, because I measured only 2.5" depth for the stock "big" Mercedes-like center muffler.

Boy, those "resonators" are HUGE????? Thanks for the performance tips, keep 'em coming! I have asked around, because I thought that some real world DB readings would be nice, but I don't seem to have any friends that can get me a meter to borrow for a before and after comparison on the same road at speed. I guess I'll have to compare the old fashioned way, by ear.
