Sounds nice, not too loud but still a little throaty, if that is a word.

I just got my RT back FROM the exhaust shop. Replaced the mufflers with Spin Tech Street series and did away with the resonators. The job too 1 1/2 hours and the sound is just what I was looking for. Nice sound when you get on it but not to loud at speed. Also replaced the air filter with a K&N panel. Noticible improvement but I'll be lucky to have tires left in 2 months. This car is fun.

    NO RESENATOR IS THE KEY

I TOOK OFF THE RES. AND PUT ON TWO STAGE TWO FLOW MASTERS. THE SOUND AND POWER IS PERFECT WOULD LOVE TO SEE SOMEONE ELSE MATCH IT.

I am getting this exact setup. I ordered the wrong Spintechs last week. I ordered center/center and after getting to the muffler shop I realized it was offset/offset. I just reordered. Did you use offset/offset? Any issues with fitting? Were they the 3224's?

    Thanks

I used 3224's and they fit perfectly in place of the single unit mufflers in the front position. removed the rear resonators and Meinike had a mandrel bent pipe in stock that was a good replacement. Welded the chrome tips onto the pipe.

AISTQM....do you have any problems with resonance with the resonators in place? That was my biggest worry with these. The Spin Techs are sitting in the garage right now. I've been waiting because I've been trying to arrange timing with spin tech themselves to leave my car there for a few days for them to do a full cat back system on it. Problem is they aren't stepping up like K&N and giving me a loaner car during the process and I haven't had a few days where I can be without the car. When I was there last they had just finished a full system for the new GTO and I was impressed with how it came out so I was trying to hold out for them to do it. Let me know how your sounds...idle, cruising, on the gas etc and if there is any resonance issues at cruising speeds with MDS.

    Thanks

    bigdaddyoc,

The sound is just what I was looking for. Quiets out at cruising speed but nice mellow rumble other times. I first tried it with the resonators in place but it wasn't loud enough. There is a throttle position which sets up a resonance, let see if I can describe it. When you would be cruising a very small increase in throttle does it. It is not something you would normally hold and is not a problem. Hope this helps.

Here's what it sounds like driving off. No, I didn't have it wide open... didn't want to scare the neighbors whos kids were right there.

This is how quiet it is when you're not on the gas at all... this is me coming back.

You can read about the mods to the exhaust in this thread:

Put 40 series two chamber flowmasters and a K&N flat panel today. Still on the fence about removing the resonators. I'll probibly drive it awhile and see. Your sound clips help, Thank's
