Does anybody knows if the stock 300c stereo has an aux imput for RCA cables or if there is some way to wire an ipod .

Yeah, that would be sweet!
Real simple thing to do, I don't know why we have not see that yet when you think about all the iPods that have been sold.. Come on Chrysler, theres a younger age GROUP that can be tapped..

Do I sound stupid or what, but what's an Ipod?!!!!!
No, not at all.
Check out the iPod's at www.apple.com
They are the current cash cow for apple and a great little music box.. I've got a 20GB and have had a mini-iPod on ORDER for the GF for a month now (back ordered)
They (iPod) fit very nicely in the little slot to the right of the shifter.

Thanks for that info.I had already gotten a e-mail in regards to my question. Super site and thanks for the quick responses!!!!!
If you haven't bought an I-Pod yet, and the 300 doesn't have the RCA ins, you can get the Samsung Napster model MP3 Player. I think it has a 20GB drive in it, and it comes with a built-in FM transmitter. It's not an IPod, but it is another option....
Now there's something to think about. I have a zillion MP3's I'd like to listen to in the car.Originally Posted by Glazeworld

There are many options of FM transmitters for the iPod (Griffin iTrip, and a Belkin Tunecast are two).Originally Posted by Glazeworld
The only problem with the FM transmitter options (that aren't tied directly to the radio's antenna cable) is available frequencies. Living between Baltimore, MD and Washington DC I've found that it's impossible to find a clean frequency (one without a station or without bleed FROM another station) to transmit to. I've been forced back to a tape adapter in my current car and none of the stock radios are tape capable in the LX cars.
If that's the case, you can always buy an FM Modulator. It's a box that plugs INTO your antenna cable and has RCA inputs. It works in the same way as an FM transmitter, except it is connected directly INTO the antenna cable. I used to run a CD changer through an FM modulator here in Cincinnati, and I never had any bleed here, or when I drove to Toronto, Montreal, Boston, NYC, Miami, or Memphis. I've never been through Baltimore (except BWI...and that was without car) but I can imagine this would help with the bleed.Originally Posted by wallabe
I've been looking INTO this (they are relatively cheap $30 - $60) but I'm still holding out hope of an Aux input on the back of the radio unit.Originally Posted by Glazeworld

There are adapters FROM folks like PIE that will multiplex the factory CD changer input so an aux input can be had. Do a search for P.I.E.

Since the in-Dash CD player does MP3's and can handle folders. I'll just stick to burning them to CD-R

That's what I'm doing. I'm also waiting to see if Sirius changes my listening habits.

Several of my friends have had short cables with a 1/8" mini stereo jack installed that snaked out under the dash i their cars & it works great.. giant music library on demand. I have no idea why they don't just throw the aux. jack on the front of the unit to begin with with all the aftermarket laptop DVD players etc. I have seen quite a few aftermarket units that have that option popping up over the last few years.
I too tried the FM transmitter thing for my wife in her PT/GT luckily one of the preset stations is signal free here throughout ost of LA so it works "pretty well" but the sound quality takes a MAJOR hit over even just directly plugging in the headphone out..
Now let's see an aftermarket DVD/Nav replacement that has firewire input for direct digital transfer... ahh music to my ears

FM transmitter suck! Halling CD's is pain in the ass! I have had my ipod(30 gb) for 9 mouths now and can't image my life with out it. To be out driving around and never HAVING to say to myself " I wish I had that CD with me" is best feeling.
I installed an aux imput with a mini pin cable INTO my Grand Am and have been enjoying the quality sound that comes for that shinny little music box.
