How does the Boston Acoustic system sound????

I was wondering how the BA system sounds? Loudness? Clarity? Bass?

it's fairly loud for a factory system and the clarity isn't bad, it's high end responce doesn't seem that great though and the bass is really lacking.

Ouch....not too good then? I have only heard the Basic 4 speaker system that comes standard....I ordered my SXT last week with the BA system but hope I won't regret saving the cash and getting aftermarket instead...I don't need a "KICKIN" system but something that sounds good when turned up loud enough to wind noise when the windows are rolled down would be nice...

I don't have mine yet. But FROM some of the other post, the system is okay, but can use help.

    My plan is this:

Step 1: REPLACE dash 3 1/2 with Infinity Refernces

Step 2: REPLACE the 6x9s in the FROM with Infinity References ( Some people question aftermarket speakers, I have good experince with them.)

Step 3: Add a powered subwoofer in the rear. Loking at a 8-10" bazooka or the Infinity compact subwoofer. The Bazooka is cheaper, but I may do the Inifnity if I can find a good mounting place.

Step 4: REPLACE the rear 6x9s with Inifinity Reference. (The goal with both 6x9 replacement is to have good sound even when I have to remove the sub.)

Thanks to MyRT for the inspiration for my mods.

Actually mine sounds great! Lot's of bass too. I guess it depends on what you listen to. I don't plan on changing mine. Plenty loud. I'm not trying to impress people by setting off car alarms.

I have actually found the stock BA system adequate as well, and I have had some decent aftermarket stuff in the past.

Infinity bass link. You'll never look back if your looking for just a bit of low thump that is nice and clean.

I like the stock BA system, except that above 60mph it seems there is an automatic volume increase, but it only seems to be working on the right side.

I have spent a lot of money on aftermarket sound systems in the past. I was really surprised on how good the factory system is. I'm still debating on installing the 12" sub-woofer and amp I already have. Sounds good already.

I'm not a stereo freak, so I have no plans to replace the stock system.

I'm very happy with the sound and power.

    Infinity

Ya guys know there are other speakers out there besides Infinity right? Ah well Anything is better then the stock setup. Try calling BA and asking for info about the system. They don't know anything about it and can't understand why you would want to replace it. It's made for the car and hours of engineering has gone into the design blah blah blah. They don't even make the system, they sub contract it out to another company and slap there name on it. Tommy boy is on tonight. I feel so bad for that poor GTX :(
