    Hood Pins

I'm getting aftermarket hood and I need to install hood pins.

Wondering what will looks better, since I though the one with cable looks better but other people told me it looks odd on modern car:
    The one with cable
Pirate MU0048SB 2005-2009 Ford Mustang Billet Hood Pin Kit Black | eBay
or Mopar one: Mopar Performance Challenger Hood Pin Kit

    Without cable
eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

Just curious what others thought about it..

I have looked at all options for hood pins (considering the price and looks) and those three options above are "the finalist".

Although the cable might not look great it does give you a bit of security over just the pins. Too many scumbags these days looking to steal anything they can.

The price of the Mopar setup is off the friggin hook.

Well, the Mayans and other Soothsayers were right, the end has begun.

Common sense is so rare it should be considered a superpower

Great input. But in that sense, do you agree the cable make it look worse?

I've seen some hood lock without pins (if you're referring to Aerocatch and Quik Latch). If not, I'm open for something new..

Yeah, I do agree the price of Mopar one is really over the top. I guess that's the cost of having Mopar engraving there.

I had a 1967 Camaro and used locking pins without any cable. Still keeps the loogans out of the engine.
    Something like this:

Spyder ACC-008 Hood Pin with Key#

    or this.

NRG CHL-100 Carbon Fiber Hood Pins: Universal#

    Cheers!

Saw those, price is very expensive and like the model of the billet pin I posted on the first post better.

Saw it, but price wise didn't make sense to me.

Saw that option as well, but not sure if the lock will last (ie. what if sand get into the lock).

Thanks. That was what I thought exactly, then some people told me it actually doesn't fit modern car theme.

I know at the end its what I liked, but I just want to make sure I'm not the only one with that (hood pin with cable) preference.

Also, another concern is will the cable touch the bumper and scratch the paint when you drive the car around?

Nah....the cable is coated. They have been on Wendys car for about 10k miles and theres no issues with it hurting the paint.

I know these are the ones you want:
Pirate MU0048SB 2005-2009 Ford Mustang Billet Hood Pin Kit Black | eBay

I'm not sure about the black ones, but then again we haven't seen your new hood or what color it will be.

Buy um, let me know how they work and I'll get them for my Magnum.

Hood will be carbon fiber. That's actually the problem; if the hood is painted yellow, I will go with black in a heartbeat. However, if I stay with carbon fiber, I am thinking about machined finish to make it contrast. That being said, if I go machined and paint my hood to yellow, I have to paint it or getting a black pin.

These four are my final options, and I have to make decision very soon as my carbon fiber hood already on its way.

The one in the middle that you said has no cable, might. In the description "They are fastened to the hood with four blind #8 studs and come with a billet adjuster nut and flip over pin with integral tether". I'm not sure what integral tether means, but that sounds like somekind of cable. Just an FYI to confuse you (lol).

At this point, I think with cable is not a problem at all, since the worst case is I can just cut the cable and called it a day.
My concern is mostly what color/model should I choose. LOL
