Filling in the gap between the hood

Well today i was cleaning under the hood and noticed that there is always dust built up between the hood and the fascia on top of the plastic cover for the radiator. So i went through a box of miscelaneous stuff and came across an un-opened box of weather stripping. Well just so happen it was the right size needed for the job. Here's a few pics of what i did.>>>

Applied a strip along the edge of the fascia...

Another small strip on both sides of the hood that covers over the headlight...

And here is what the final results look like...

This is the weather stripping i used. I believe i got it from Pep Boys?

I will test this it this week to see if it helped keeping it clean under the hood.

Here is what I did... look closely at the edge of the hood! I purchased a roll of black door trim (so I could cut it to the correct length) that slips right over, and adheres to the edge. Like I said, it's sold as door trim... oh, yeah, there was enough to also trim the door edges. It fills the gap and blends in nicely with the rest of the black accents. They also come in clear, though. Cheap, but functional mod.

Another nice benefit is the deflection of rock and gravel away from the hood's edge/lip - now, whatever comes flying up from the the grille is deflected away and over the hood (unless it's a big rock or beer can - ugh!). Never had another chip.
