I talk to this manufacturer ( http://www.woodtrim.com/ ), they will have a trim kit available in about 3 weeks. They are looking to see if we might want to do a GROUP buy.
Thoughts?
I would lean towards small changes with brushed aluminum.

snickle,
I'm in. Brushed alum. for me also. Not looking for a 20 piece kit. Just 3 of 4 pieces in center dash and console.
Thanks,
MyRT,
My thoughts exactly. I'll wait for some more input and then get back to the manufacturer.

I am interested also in the aluminum. I was thinking maybe a little carbon fiber also. It doesn't need much but definately something for the dash and console.
Please let me know of a price and if some pics are available.
Thanks
aluminum to match the shifter would be good. I was just gonna lazer cut some thin aluminum, blast it, and clear coat it and REPLACE the stock bezel with that. Make it REAL brushed aluminum ;-)

Brushed aluminum sounds great! A few tasteful pieces would look nice.
Would anyone prefer REAL brushed aluminum, not the stick on plastic stuff?

I'm with him. I really like the way that they did up the SRT-8 concept as illustrated below:Originally Posted by MyRT

I LIke the center stack, and just as importantly, the door treatment. I like the black trim piece around the window controls and I like the aluminum on the door grab. I could go either way on the trim piece around the left and right (not visible) vent.
Magnumrt,
Real alum would be great. I would like it to match the shifter and rings around the gauges. The door treatment also looks good. Real alum. might be hard to do on the doors.
MagnumRT. The kits I am looking at are real aluminum. Are you thinking of producing something yourself?

MyRT: I will look at the door handles and see what can be done, but I think it might be doable.
snickle: Yes, I will be doing this myself at my shop and producing them if feasable. Most places that do woodgrain dash kits say they use real wood and real aluminum, but 99.99% of the time it is DEFINATLY NOT real aluminum. Closest thing I have seen is aluminum foil with a plastic backing and thick urithane clear coat to keep it FROM tearing. Most are just ABS plastic with a brushed look painted on.
We are looking at doing 1 of 2 things, first would be a simple overlay that would use adhesive attatchment much like that of the usual wood grain places, the other would be an actual replacement. Issue here is the way the A/C and ESP are screwed INTO it, we would have to hide weld marks FROM screw bosses. Also, the mounting clips may be hard to do. We will be looking at this in the coming weeks. So far we would like to do the center stack bezle, both outer heat vents, the door grab handles, REPLACE the chrome rings around the nobs with brushed ones, REPLACE the bezel around the shifter with a billet peice that would actualy go over the entire black area of the shifter with the PRND cutout so light can shine through, maybe some inserts for the lower part of the stereing wheel, but not sure about that as the uppper spokes wouldnt look right then. All would be matched to the look of the brushed peice in the shifter handle. We could do these in brushed like that or polished aluminum or even chrome.

I just went to their site, yes, they are useing real aluminum (so they say) Still, I will be useing a finish that is more like what is already on the shifter than what they use. I will also attempt to make this an actual replacment and not an overlay if possible.
