I had some more parts painted brilliant black and put on this past weekend:
the biggest and most noticeable was the charger chin spoiler. I made the cut and then fiberglassed the backside. Unfourtunately the glass did not adhere well to the plastic and came loose opening the gap and exposing the seam. On top of that near the top of the seam the glass had an adverse affect on the paint causing it to blister. Its not horrible, but definately bugs me enought to redo it. I will drive around with it for a few months first to see how well the rest of the paint holds up and how many times I scrape it before reinvesting though. Also added Res18cue's old lic. plate frame to the nose with a fresh coat of brilliant black.
Under the hood the engine cover that was painted last year was joined by strut covers, and a shiny painted airbox (off dodger's car). I still have some more work under here to add some dazzle, but I think all the painting is done.
finally in the cabin, I replaced my silver shifter bezel with a black SE one painted what else? brilliant black, but with more clear coats. Redinorange's old shifter knob got the paint treatment as well as my black textured radio bezel. The texture still shows through strong hiding the metalflake so if I get a bug up my butt to paint anything else, I may have the silver bezel I used while the stock one was out getting painted and swap them. The silver is smoother. I want to wait to see how well this stuff holds up first. I kept all the parts to go back to silver just in case.
on to the next projects....2 super secret nose mods...both done before, but different.
so for those keeping score at home so far my R/T has the following painted to match the body
•engine cover
•strut covers
•airbox
•Lic Plate frame(front)
•charger spoiler
•SXT Grill
•rear spoiler
•splash guards
•shifter
•radio bezel
•shifter bezel
what am I missing? Ernie?
