ABS issues with 1" different sized F/R tires?

I know this is an issue on my car, how about the Magnum?
Anybody have any experience with this yet with aftermarket wheels/tires?

    Just curious,

Welcome to the site. I think there were iissues discussed (actually theories) in another thread about ABS and different sized tires. It could theoretically confuse the computer.

I am putting a staggered setup on later today, 255/40-19 rear and 245/40-19 front, because thats what I took off of our G35c, there isn't that much of a difference, but we'll see if its fussy. I know my 350Z isn't, even with the stability control, because I use equal size race tires on the track and the factory stagger on the street with no noticeable differences.

I'm just worried my combo might be too short and look weird, might have to go 255/45 all around, but I hate to waste 1/4 used tires.

Now, off to get some lug nuts that will fit my wheels!

I'm thinking along the line of 1" difference which on my car (old computer) causes ABS light to come on and not work - especially when I run my 285/30-18 front and 28-13.5-15 ET street rear tires at the track.

well, no wonder, that looks likes is a 3.3" diameter difference!

For the record, on an initial drive with only a .3" difference, there are no noticeable side effects. The tires are too short though, need to get a set of 255.45-19s asap.

Yes, but you need big wide ET Streets with 400RWHP and a 250 shot...

My 350Z has 400hp, but no NOS shot, so I only need 26x9.50 slicks!

I think I've found my combo for the car now:
I thinking some Boyd Coddington Osiris 20x8 and 20x10 wheels.

    With Toyo Proxes S/T:
    275/40-20 front
    315/35-20 rear

4DRHTRD...good to see you did some homework. Heres what I'll tell you FROM my results. With the 275/40's on front it slowed the steering down and made it feel somewhat sluggish in response. As far as the rear, we didn't try to go that wide but its my understanding that the widest you can fit and stay tucked in the wheel wells was 295's. I actually got my wheels put on this morning and will post pics later after I take some. I ended up with 255/45 toyo's all the way around and so far I'm happy with the look and the feel.

yup...20x9's with 255/45/20 all the way around. I drove it some more tonight and it really does ride nice. Hopefully this weekend I'll get some time to hit the twisties and test the tires limits...well that and take some pics with the new wheels and the front windows tinted.

I ran 275/40-17's on my Impala forever and they were just fine.
    I can't imagine running a 255/45-20 on such a large car.
I'll have to find out once I pickup a Magnum and put those wheels on it...

Same here 4DRHTRD...on both an Impala and a caprice wagon, but it doesn't feel the same with this car. Maybe the steering box/system is not as strong as the Impala. Who knows...only time will tell...there will be many of us who go through several different scenarios and hopefully we will all learn FROM each other.

If I didn't have to take clients out in may car I'd be putting 22's on it, but I didn't want to subject clients to the rough ride.
