    300C Speakers

Does anyone know any info on the Sound GROUP II speakers. I'm looking to change the speakers or add more speakers to the my 300C. The speakers are pretty loud, but I want them even louder. I was thinking of either putting a bigger amp on the already factory speakers. (will they bust) if so maybe changeing like 4 of the speakers that can handle the new amp (maybe 400 or 500 watts) or just trying to add two or four more additional speakers. Anybody have any ideas as to what would be a good desicion. Does anyone know the rms of the current speakers in the soundgroup II, or can anyone tell me how to find out. Thanks in advance.

I'm gonna move this topic to the 300 mods forum.

When I talked with a salesman last week, he said that the upgraded sound package was a 388 Watt package. I'm guessing that the speakers FROM that package could handle 400W, but that's just my guess.

    300C

I meant an additional 400 watts to the current. I'm now thinking of adding a few more speakers. Anywhere you guys know to hide em so they will be out of sight but still play loud.

I still want to see pics of the factory Sound GROUP II Boston Acoustics Speakers. I fear these will be different in the way the "Infinity" speakers in LH cars were to real Infinity aftermarket speakers. Basically paper woofers and "whizzer" cones for tweeters. I hope these are better than that, else I'll have to plan to REPLACE with "real" Boston Acoustics.

Can anyone FROM the factory confirm the speaker design?

I've seen a lot of people hiding a woofer inside the spare tire. I did it in my old Avenger and it sounded quite nice, and I still had total use of my trunk space.

Based on what I've seen FROM auto manufacturers, the Sound GROUP II adds a powered subwoofer and I think a 6disc in dash. Otherwise, it's the same as stock. The extra wattage is FROM the powered sub - the rest of the system is the same.

I wouldn't bet that these speakers could hold much more power.

Does anyone know what size speakers are in what location of the LX's?

I sure hope the oem speakers are good qualitly. Boston Acoustics make great speakers--I have them for my home setup. I just hope they use rubber surrounds on the speakers in the LX vehicles so they can handle the power and so they are durable.

    300C speakers

Every car I have ever owned I have always gotten the sound package (if offered), but the 300C speakers are the best I have ever heard. My only gripe with the speakers is (and remeber i'm 23 in the city) is that it is not loud enough. The sound is ggggrrreeaattt, but still just not loud enough. It is loud with the windows up on certain sound, but when you let the windows down in the summer you want the music yelling out of your car. I'm looking to add four tweeters, two in the back, two in the front, and a four channel 400 watt amp. Also I already have two solo baric L5's with a 1000 watts fosgate amp (lows). I just have to get someone willing to install it INTO the 300C.

    Sound GROUP II

The first thing I do when I buy a new car is run INTO the electronics store and DROP a couple thousand on a brand new system. Not the case with this car this is the best sounding 380 watts I had the experience of listening to. It blows away any bose or infinity stereo on any of my previous cars. :D
