Woo-hoo! A kill!
I got home last night after my trip to Gettysburg. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I rented a car for the weekend, because I didn't want to drive my Magnum that far and park it in a tourist destination, on account of dings, etc.
Anyway, the rental I ended up with was a black '07 Charger SE. Nice car, comfortable on a 500 mile drive. Soooo not a Hemi. After coming to the realization that a rental 2.7 is slow, I quit trying to summon the hemi passing power I'm used to, and began things like planning passes when there's nobody coming within a half mile, and flooring it so I get some speed up especially steep hills that are quite frequent in West Virginia.
Anyway, on the way home, I'm driving behind several idiots between there and home, as is usually the case on the highway, but one in particular person was driving 50mph in the left lane in his 2000-2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS. Speed limit is 60mph on this particular highway. I followed for a few miles because in the right lane was another Eclipse GS with a temp tag and a newly licensed driver. He may have been 18, but I doubt it.
Anyway, roll up to a traffic light, and they're both first in line, with me right behind. Doing the whole inching forward thing, it's obvious, they're gonna hit it when the light turns green. It turned green, and the temp tagged one immediately revs it up high... and stalls. It helps when you don't start out in third gear.
This opened up the right lane, and so I come up from behind, get into the right lane, and pass the other Eclipse right up, freeing me from their idiocy.
