I have found a 2006 Mag R/T (loaded) with 74000 kms (46000 miles).
I'm thinking of trading my 2007 SXT Mag for it. My SXT now has 70000kms on it.
Is this too much mileage for a purchase...am I better off looking for something with less? Am I looking for repairs soon?
What kind of price should I be looking at - it's in really good condition, leather is perfect; Nav; sunroof.
I should add that I don't need an R/T...just want one.
Thanks everyone.
Spending time I don't have; on modifications I can't afford; to impress people I don't know.
No question is stupid; if you don't know the answer!
My Mag is gone. :(
You shouldn't have any problems with only 70000 km on it. I have 115000km on my 06 SXT with no problems other than the door hinge.
But looking at an 06 RT, I've seen them running around around $14000 around Windsor area.
All of the problems with my RT Magnum pretty much happened when it was fairly new. Few front end glitches , tie rods, ball joints, o ring leak in transmission. The second hundred thousand miles has been trouble free. Get the hemi, you'll never look back. Probably use no more gas either! The last tank that I checked on my car was 24 mpg. That's with 195,000 miles = 325,000 km!![]()

each buyer is different, but if u like then buy it!!! i bought my 05 mag with 100k fully loaded, 1 owner no accidents and i paid 12k in newmarket...
Another vote for "Go for it"! The mileage isn't much of a concern. I'm at 180,000 km (and I'm NOT easy on it) and had to replace some front-end parts this summer. But even so, that cost less than 2 months of a new car payment - BIG DEAL! LOL! The R/T driveline is solid. I believe by the maintenance schedule for severe service in the owner's manual, at ~75,000 km the rear diff. fluid is due for a change out and at ~100,000 the tranny is meant to have a routine service (filter and fluid change) + replace spark plugs. All routine stuff. Giv'R!
Last: 2009 BB 300C SRT8 - Diablosport Predator, LMI Hammer-design intake, lower rad-shroud mod, 180* t-stat, Mopar hitch - SOLD June 2012
First: 2005 BB Magnum RT - FRI Sidewinder, Mopar CAI, lower rad-shroud mod, 180* t-stat, SRT8 valve-springs and pushrods/timing chain & tensioner/suspension, Diablosport Predator w/ CMR tune by Techmotion on live chassis dyno, sold May 2011 at 200,000 km and new owner still loves it.
I love power and the low end torque and I wouldn't have anything else but the hemi!!!!!!
I know that you don't need the R/T , so buy an SRT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL

Bob in Ocala, Florida (a 73 year old guy who loves cars), 05' Magnum RT. Many mod's, all of Danko Products and a few from 402 Motoring.
Have owned my share of 12 & 13 second cars, am happy now with my stock RT.
I totaled my SXT and took the leap into an R/T. I drive 75 miles each day to and from work and with 53,000 miles on it, I have just normal Magnum issues. Take the plunge if you want it, you will not be dissappointed. Trust me.
Do it

I have to say give it a GO! i bought mine a couple months back it had 85k on it at $13k I've not had any problems with it other than normal maint. mines an AWD RT i drive 66 miles round trip up a mountian in the AM down it in the PM still right in that 18-19mpg I replaced the brakes today and seen that i do have some worn bushings that need replacing I plan on doing alot to it around 100k because i dont know what the orig. owners have had done (ie: trans service, radiator flush, front and rear rear-end maint. new shocks n struts, prolly replace upper and lower ball joints however today only one upper looked like it was getting ready to go the bottoms looked fairly good and of course replacing those worn bushings, the outter tie-rods were replaced by the dealership i bought it from so thats not needed)

Definitely go with the Hemi man. There really is nothing like the sound of a healthy V8, and the mileage is so close to the V6, the extra 90HP is so worth it.

Glad I'm not the only one with a crazy commute to work, I have a 66 mile commute one way but that is with Oakland and San Francisco traffic as I go from Tracy, CA to San Francisco everyday. I have an 05 mag R/T, I just turned the 80k mile mark bought it with 58k 2 years ago. I carpool on alot of days so I'm not making that drive everyday in my car. I had several big repairs around the 60k mile mark so be prepared to save for routine maintenance such as engine mounts, trans flush/filter, rear diff fluid change, spark plugs, radiator fans seem to be a common issue my high speed fan went out at 78k. Other than that it's just routine maintenance. I get around 20 mpg on mine with interstate stop go driving with congestion and that is with 20" chrome rims and 275/40 tires on it. Can't beat the Hemi R/T except with an SRT8. Good Luck.
