we to get the car washed and look what we have here......
just went to get the car a quick wash and there is another AWD Magnum in front of me i waved at her when she was using cleaning out the inside.
Ouch, you take her through a power wash!? Nothing but handwashes and microfiber drying for my baby.
Take it easy on the guy, he lives in Wisconsin. If I lived in Arizona, I'd have the ability to handwash outdoors atleast once a week, too. Unfortunately, I can't. I'd spend way too much money on doctor's bills from neumonia.
Hey, Wisconsin dude, I know this is unsolicited advice, but you should think about removing that dealer sticker from the rear hatch. Unless they're paying you, that is, in which case I am envious that you have a sponsor!

In the northern states... where it like gets cold and stuff... (I know this is new for you) You have to make a choice...
Salt corroding your baby... or taking it through the car wash... Trying to hand wash will result in your car being turned into a solid block of ice, and your hose and pipes freezing and breaking...

And then what happened? Did she spray you with mace? j/k.
There are some "touchless" laser or whatever car washes up north. So automatic car wash means different things in different places.
I wash mine by hand but I go to the DIY car wash. It's cheap and you get to control what happens to your car.

I live outside of Philly, not as Northern as some but it gets good and cold and we get snow on occasion. I just walked in from washing my wifes car. It was 40 today, so not too bad. I found one thing which seems to help - I bought a pair of gloves at the local home renovation store that are coated in some sort of rubber, so my hands stay dry. Its still cold, but I don't get chapped!
I would have washed the Magnum, but since I just got it back from a body shop, they washed it and its still pretty clean.

Yeah, nothing like washing your car only to find it dirtier than when you started.Originally Posted by Red Zeppelin
It was nice here today too. I hand washed mine.
And used a little cleaner under the hood.
We are going to have it professionally detailed soon.
AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! That is the same type of car wash that hurt my baby...BIG ugly DEEEEP scratch on the outside of my right and left rear wheelwell. Those big ugly brushes and a newbie LX driver (she will never drive it again) played tag and the brushes (due to the car being some askewed on the track) LOSS.
Only laser touchless and finishing drying with microfiber towels or hand washing with the Mr. Clean system here.

If it were 40, I'd say it MIGHT be worth doing it yourself but.... last week here in Minnesota we hit -30 a few times, so not too much handwashing goes on here.Originally Posted by Red Zeppelin
If there are flurries the salt trucks are on the road ready to spread that metal corroding crap everywhere, so you need to wash a lot.
I have mine detailed once per week normally, but during the bad road times, as much as 3 times per week to keep the salt off. Last month with so many salty road days I spent roughly $800 keeping my car clean.
I'd rather pay someone else to do it, then freeze myself.![]()
Ditto - they just built one about 3 minutes from my house.Originally Posted by NC-SXT

Thats why I dont take it to the roller washes. I only use the spray guns. I dont even let the dealer wash my car after a service, as I dont trust anyone with my precious paintwork but ME!!Originally Posted by ffiimo
Ok to make you all feel better that car wash had no brushes so nothing touches the car but water i would never take the car through a car wash that had brushes that hit the car........ U think I have a death wish?? LOL
and as far as washing it by hand i do everytime i wash in the summer but when the car is all full of salt and its 20 outside i settle for the auto wash.
as far as the decal i have to take it off this spring i HATE IT big white sticker on a black car UHHHH...
