Weight and Build Date

Just checked my door today for no reason at all and noticed that my vehicle weight is 5300 lb?! And the weight is distributed 50/50 as well? I always thought our cars were around 4200 lb or so, and that weight was 60/40. And my build date is 6/04 if that makes any difference. Am I losing my sight? Or am I thinking of something totally different...

Is that GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating)? If so that is vehicle plus max trailer and people. With the tow package you would have a higher number,

^^ what he said. My 06 RT weighs 4320 with me in it. So about 4160, nothing in it, 1/4 tank.

I am assuming that thats what it means. However, I still think that pretty dang high with 2810 lb/2810 lb allowed. Might take a trip to a truck stop tomorrow just to see how much it actually does weigh...I didnt see a sticker with curb weight anywhere I dont think.

that is the gross vehicle weight, the maximun weight it can handle fully loaded. it is not the actual vehicle weight.

Yep I just ran out and checked. Its def the gross rating. I didnt take the time to look next to the numbers in the small print as I was stunned by 2810 lb front and back. I must have lost my mind due to some Ohio team getting slaughtered currently...
