Any of you seen that "Lowest Ego Emmissions" ad on TV yet.
They got this guy in a 300 saying out the window "Cos my daddy didnt hug me" etc and another guy in a sports saying "I need to compensate for me short comings" etc. Another guy says " Because I make more than you" etc etc.

Well, kiss my A$$ Vee dubbya, all this is just them trying to rationalise it... ie telling RATIONAL LIES!! LOL!!!

OK so it made me LOL too, good commercial, but they can still kiss my A$$ cos I bought the Magnum cos its the coolest passionate car that has come out in a loooong time!!!!!!!

Unlike a PASSAT!! LOL!

I think it is a poor ad. It's premis is that most people in the USA have some sorta mental problem stemming from their childhood unless they drive a VW. That coming from a car company,especially a foriegn car company, is pretty stupid. Therefore VW and their affilliates are off my list for life.

I always liked the Passat Wagon.....until the Magnum came along. Passat Wagon looks sort of silly now. Still a big fan of the VW's though. Would love to get the Touareg.

the only VW i really like was the ill fated Phateon. it had a nice interior but the price was way to much. the should make a new commercial with someone in a Phaeton say "cause i was stupid enough to pay 70 G's on a VW"

even the one with the W12 engine thats a 6.0L 12 cylinder, which by the way almost run close to 100 G's probably could just barely hang with and SRT8 which is half the price. who's got the ego problem now

yeah i was about to start a thread on the new VW ego commercial. the one with all the people pulling up to the glass building to look at their cars. hey i do that, i LOVE to see my car. i LOVE to see any other LX, viper, mini, NECO cougar, or anything else with an inspired design.

All VW is doing is going "yeah we suck at designing cars that look cool, so instead of bringing new talent on board we're just going to rag on everyone who drives a car with 2 ounces of design."

Don't get me wrong, i've met people who do buy vehicles b'c they (the person) suck and think the car makes the man. I'm pretty sure that the majority of us here on the site think the man (and/or woman i.e. hemigirl, chargergirl et al) make the car. But in what world is a bland car design a good advertising campaign? Anyone want to buy me a ticket to Germany (one way i doubt they'll let me out) so i can smack the stupid out of those people?

sorry to say, but the only reason i'm driving a Magnum is that VW isn't importing the Passat TDI until ultra low sulfur diesel becomes standard in the US. The new diesels from VW won't run on our crap fuel. So I went to the other end of the MPG spectrum and traded my 45 mpg Golf TDI on a Magnum R/T. Diesels are a lot of fun. I tweaked mine from 90 hp and 140 ft-lb to 140 hp and 235 ft-lb with a chip tune and injectors and was still getting 45mpg. I used to really SMOKE the ricers. check out tdiclub.com to see what they're capable of.

now if DC would put the E320 CDI motor (200hp, 400 ft-lb, 40 mpg) in the Magnum, they'd own my loyalty for life. seriously excellent motor.
