What do you want to do with them??? I keep all mine, when winter time comes I take off the tail lights and rims. So darthvader want to ah send me a PM of the list of parts you have from your car that you might want to sell.
So damn custom, I don't even need a sig!
we'll i havnt taken off anything like that but if i did id probably sell them so i could fund some new modsoh yea im also gonna take off my rims in the winter and put stock back on so the wheels are prob the only thing i would keep. i dont have room for all that stuff.
When you are ready to sell or trade the vehicle, swap out all the easy stuff before you let the car go. Sell the leftover expensive stuff on ebay. I got alot of my investment doing this on a 97 Cobra I bought new.
Your modifications will be worth zero if you trade it in.

I keep all of mine for the next potential buyer. It's nice to have so much to list off.
It's also great if the buyer is someone who appreciates the car for what it is, and the mods may turn them off somehow, so you can offer the stock components to put them at ease.
I completely disagree with those that say your mods are worth zero on a trade-in. I have traded several modded cars and always got more because of what I did. I'll list two cases:
When I traded my 93 Typhoon for the first Magnum (06 R/T) I had a slight problem because it was a specialty vehicle, and because they were afraid to let anyone test drive it so they thought it might sit on the lot for a long time. They assessed the value, and THEN asked what I had done to it. I got a few extra grand because of all the mods. I also furnished all of the original components with my trade as well.
When I traded my R/T for the SRT8 I was looking at losing quite a bit. Unbelievably, one of the factors that bumped up the value was the genuine carbon fiber interior and exterior treatments I had done to it. As I was negotiating the purchase of the SRT a couple had come in to look at it (as it was parked next to my R/T) and when they found out I was buying it, they immediately asked about "that hot R/T next to it" which was mine. They were attracted to the carbon fiber because it looked different from the other black R/T's on the lot. The sales manager saw that there was interest and I ended up with a better deal.
There were other variables to me getting the steal I got on my SRT, but this little bit did factor in.
While you will NEVER get the money you sunk into mods, the right ones can create more value on a trade. You don't think a dealership will pay out a little more to have my vertical doors on their showroom in the future? Oh yeah they sure will.
you could screw up a nice car---but then your smarter than the man---lolOriginally Posted by Darthvader

I've kept things for years. I never needed any of them until I've pitched them.
With the extra parts from cars over the years and take offs from the Harley's I have modded over the years I could open a small bone yard.
For the Mag, I only tossed the exhaust. Other then that one, I keep everything and if I sell it, they go with it.
From wild to extra wild we got you covered with crap ya never knew you needed.

my decision usually rests on space requirements of the stock piece. I usually try to maintain the stock parts if possible for potential resale, and since I am into old cars, I appreciate when someone has done work but kept the original parts.

I tossed my stock exhaust due to room constraints but I still have the stock airbox and that is all I have that replaces things....when I do get new rims I am going to keep the stockers to put snow tires on so I don't hurt the 22's with all the nasty winter lovin up in New York

I save all my stock parts. When I'm done with the vehicle I return it to stock and trade it in at the dealer. Selling your mod's will net you 50-75% of what you paid vs. 0% from the dealer.
I did this with my CTS-V. I have over $8,000 in mod's and netted out $5,800 of roughly 73% of what I paid. Having the discipline to always buy in group purchases and you'll do fine.![]()
