    SuperChips is here at last!

Alright, so aside from my painted calipers (which don't really count), my first performance modification ever has arrived and been installed.

Today's my day off from work, and the weather is clear and crisp for once, and it was indeed my lucky day when I found the SuperChips FlashPaq on my doorstep this afternoon, (especially when FedEx was predicting it would show up tomorrow during my work day!)

So I rushed out to my car and gave it a shot. It's chilly, but I finally got it set up! I took it out for a whirl and was VERY pleased. Not only does everything shift much smoother, but engine response is much quicker and this flash has really woken up my ride!

I run 87 octane, so I used that setting, as well as raised shift points, torque management reduced, bumped the limiter up to 200 mph, etc. I can't activate the auto paddle kick on my AWD, which is a bit disappointing. I believe I remember reading that if I get my TCM firmware updated it'll let me use the auto paddle kick? Or is that only on newer model year Magnums?

Anyhow, moving on, I'd just like to note that my average mpg has 17.9 for the past few months, give or take a few decimal points. I usually reset it once or twice a month, but it's been pretty consistent. I reset it again this afternoon. Well, I drove around for about 20 minutes after flashing with the SuperChips, flooring it, pushing the car hard, accelerating and decelerating frequently. I drove for about 5 minutes at 55 or so just cruising on a street that had traffic, but for the most part I was driving the car pretty hard during my test run. When I pulled back into my driveway, I was looking at 18.5 mpg, which is pretty impressive considering the beating I was giving my engine!

Anyhow, I just couldn't help coming on here and sharing my satisfaction with the SuperChips. I know most everyone on here who has a modded ride runs SuperChips, and I can certainly see why!

Yep, first thing I did was update the flashpaq. IIRC, the Auto Paddle Kick is something that won't work on us AWDers unless we get the latest version of the TCM.

I plan on updating the TCM when I get the chance. I also need to reset HAL still as well.

Indeed! I've been messing about with the diagnostics this afternoon, and so far I've got a 6.03 0-60 with 87 octane, which isn't bad. I'm sure with a bit of work I can get it down below 6 seconds.

And what's really nuts is, for the first time ever, I've felt the wheels slip when accelerating from a stop in dry weather. This is an AWD car on dry asphalt! I know my tires had a bit of snow on the tires when I pulled out of my driveway, so maybe the tires were a bit wet... I'll have to do some more experimenting before work tomorrow to see!

Once you get your TCM updated, the flashpaq will behave the same... still telling you that you can't use Paddle Kick. But, Paddle Hold will behave like Paddle Kick.

    Glad you're enoying your flashpaq.

This is my experience also, just dont get the PCM updated as then you will need to await the new updates from Superchips

You have to insall the 91 tune. Don't think you will see the gains you want with an 87 tune.

The main difference, when using the flashpaq and driving the car using the autostick (not in Drive):

Paddle Kick: Tranny will shift when you reach the rev. limit.

Paddle Hold: Tranny will not shift until you manually move the shifter.

Yeah, but I drive with 87 octane... is running 91 tune with 87 octane a good idea? I'm also liking the extra 2 mpg that the 87 tune is giving me.

You have to understand that I spend about an hour and a half driving every day at 65+ mph. I go through a LOT of gas.
