    Super 8 Hemi Concept

So, how bad was this thing?

Think the original design for the LX cars was closer to what we see below? Did consumer backlash to the concept make for chages to what we see coming out of Brampton? Or do you think the Super 8 was just a concept to show the "desgin direction" for the next big cars from DC?

Personally I think the Super Hemi 8 Concept car was awesome. But, most people I show it to think it was ugly and too "over the top".

What did you think of it?

    super 8

    Tony,
Everytime I saw it, I would be reminded of a '57 Chevy. .I thought it was a cool concept, but knew it would never fly.

I love it. Imagine driving around in that. Very cool retro spartan interior too. I love the exposed trans tunnel and trim bits.

I mentioned it in another thread, but I still think those suicide doors are a preview of the Charger doors. Just a thought since this concept was a preview of the LX design.

Definitely 50's styling, I'ld cruise in it. I love the roof line from the rear corner shot. I don't think suicide doors would make it into production, I hope they do though. It would be expensive to tool for suicide doors unless they had more models of the same.

Just a "design direction" concept. I liked it much better than most, it seemed to be villified wherever it went. But obviously DCX wasn't going to show the real car that early! Much like the Kahuna minivan, they tend to throw out a wild concept and then tame it for production.

I really like the chopped look. The front end is calling for a massive intercooler though!

Personally, I think the thing was HORRID!

The only thing remotely '57 about it is the top.

And what's it got, 22"s? WTF? Triple moldings on the doors?

I'm so glad the LXs came from a different lot than that!

Actually, looking at it again, I'd have to say that it would be kinda cool without the lame front clip. I actually see the 300c in it.
