I have driven my used R/T for about 1000 miles. To my uneducated ears there seems to be movement or bouncing of the rear hatch when going over a series of bumps or a big bump. I know the rear hatch is heavy. But there seems to be a sound. To me it sounds like the hatch is not fastened completely. There just seems there is too much movement. I just think there should be no sound at all FROM the hatch.

Could it be the tri-fold floor bouncing? Mine moves around allot when it's patially folded up.

Stuff in the trunk area? Trifold Cover? Not enough weight to hold down the cover? Going over the bump too fast?
But the million dollar question is why do you choose to refer to your 2005 RT as a used RT? Are you HAVING buyer's remorse? My RT is used too, I have used it for 11,000 miles! But it is never my "used" RT, it's simply my RT.![]()
ckofod,
I had a similiar sound on my RT around 16,000 miles. The dealer found a wiring retainer clip in the roof not properly installed. We (the dealers tech) and myself would have initially SWORN it was in the rear hatch door.
It wasn't. Fixed, quiet as a mouse now :D
Tonneau cover extended? Mine rattles over bumps occasionally when the cover is used.
I want to die in my sleep like my grandfather...not screaming and yelling like the
passengers in his car.
